Frat House Massacre DVD (Synapse) (NTSC Region 1)

Frat House Massacre DVD (Synapse) (NTSC Region 1)

From the creators of CAMP SLAUGHTER comes FRAT HOUSE MASSACRE, a true homage to the best of the late 70's grindhouse and early 80's slasher films! Sean (Chris Prangley) and his little brother Bobby (Rane Jameson) thought joining the Delta Iota Epsilon fraternity would be the best time of their lives with parties, freedom, girls and sex. The fraternity president Mark (Jon Fleming of TVs WILL & GRACE and DANTEíS COVE), however, is a little strange. His twisted hazing rituals include extreme physical and mental torture that lead the boys down a horrific path of destruction and death. But death may be just the beginning, as this gritty twisted film unfolds. Inspired by actual events and set in the year 1979, FRAT HOUSE MASSACRE is a disturbing journey through the twisted world of fraternity boys, pledges and the not-so-innocent sorority sisters swept up in their madness. Loaded with violence, gore, nudity and a fantastic music score by Claudio Simonetti, this DVD is the director's cut containing over twenty minutes of additional footage.

Zombie Movie Automaton Transfusion Arrives on DVD

When you’ve seen as many bad, bad, bad low-budget zombie movies as I have (usually made by a guy with a camcorder and some people he conned off the street), you can easily get a bit jaded. But I have to admit, after taking a look at the trailer for Steven C. Miller’s 2006 zombie opus “Automaton Transfusion” (supposedly the first of a planned trilogy), my curiosity has been pique. This thing doesn’t look half bad!

Government experiments to resurrect the dead and transform them into super soldiers go horribly wrong, leaving a rampaging horde of the zombified guinea pigs to wreak havoc on a small town. Fortunately, three resourceful high school students demonstrate a knack for putting the ferocious flesh eaters out of their misery. The first installment of a planned trilogy, this low-budget fright film stars Garrett Jones, Juliet Reeves.

Review from the Anchor Bay Entertainment DVD
Choose your own cliché: “All good things must come to an end” or “You can’t go home again”. Either of these describe the career of Italian filmmaker Dario Argento. During the 1970s and the early 1980s, the man was the master of shock cinema and made some truly unique films. But, it’s been 23 years since Argento’s last great film and 18 years since his last good movie, and while his reputation has remained, his output has suffered. Still, the man keeps going and his latest film, 2004’s THE CARD PLAYER, is now available on DVD in Region 1.

Day the World Ended & She Creature [DVD] [1956] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]

The day the world ended is a film I saw late at night and found it one of the most frightening I had ever seen, to the extent that I had nightmares about it and remembered scenes from it for the 45 years since I first saw it. The plot: a survivalist with experience - observations of horrible mutations after the H-Bomb explosion in the Pacific - has built a house protected by lead deposits and natural ridges. But there is a kink in his plan: a group of uninvited guests show up. With only enough food for himself, his daughter, and her missing fiancee, the danger of hunger increases tension between the group that includes a scientist and a crook with his stripper babe. But the scariest part is a man who survived in mutated form, with silvery atomic skin, who can walk through the radioactive mist to the outside world in search of the raw meat he craves, where, he assures the scientist, "wonderful things are happening, but you will all die." The mutated man returns at night because he has enemies on the outside. All the residents are unsure whether or not they will become like that man with the radiation that is sure to come with the next rains.

IO ZOMBO, TU ZOMBI, LEI ZOMBA (1979)

Review: Horror/sex comedy about four zombies who are running a hotel and trying to eat their customers. Three men are involved in a fatal car crash and taken to the local cemetery for burial. The Gravedigger is in no rush, and he figures his customers are not as well. So he sits back and reads aloud from a horror novel about voodoo. As he recites the incantation of the zombie, the three men in the caskets get brought back to life. The Gravegdigger turns to see them sitting up and dies from fright, but the zombies return the favor and soon all four of the men are the living dead. With no experience on how to be a zombie, they refer to the novel and learn that human flesh is their new sustenance. After several failed attempts at snaring a victim, they take over a hotel intending to have their patrons for dinner.

BLOOD AND LACE (1971) Horror Collector's Edition

BLOOD AND LACE (1971)

Review: Not to be confused with Mario Bava's "Blood and Black Lace", this is the American horror film, that has been called "One of the Sickest PG-rated films ever made". Actually the film was given a GP rating upon release, the equivalent of today's PG rating. A teenage girl is sent to an orphanage after her prostitute mother is murdered, in a double murder by hammer opening sequence. The orphanage is run by a woman, and her handyman, who murder those who try to run away. The film features some of the most disturbing and politically incorrect situations you could think of. Great B drive-in movie trash from the glorious seventies. Highly recommended! Uncut, In English, no subtitles. Quality A- Cover Design & Banner By: Vince dario.arg@hotmail.fr

Directed by: Philip S. Gilbert

Starring: Gloria Grahame, Len Lesser, Vic Tayback, Melody Patterson, Dennis Christopher
